La Criée centre of contemporary art

Located in the heart of the city of Rennes, in the building of the central covered market that was designed by architect Emmanuel Le Ray in 1923, La Criée centre for contemporary art is an exhibition space dedicated to research, production and diffusion of French and foreign artists’ works, emerging or recognized. Open to a wider audience, La Criée is a place to invent and reflect the artistic forms of today and tomorrow, and the uses of its forms.
Each season, the art center designed an ambitious program, which intersect artistic events and projects that address the issues and objectives of exhibition, research, international outreach and sustainable territorial embedding
practices. La Criée offers to the public the experience of artistic opening with exhibitions, artists residencies, the organization of conferences, seminars, workshops, meetings and publications.
